OSHIVELLO

The Oshivello training ground was located just off the tar road between Ondangwa and Tsumeb, approximately 100 kilometres from Tsumeb. The base was located just after the veterinary post gate at Oshivelo.

This is where about 200 mechanised infantrymen of Alpha Company 1 SAI, who had come up to the border from the Tempe base at Bloemfontein under command of Major Ep van Lill were lying up in tents scattered through the bushes.
